- BMS Design: Designed a custom battery management system (BMS) including cell monitoring, active balancing, protection circuitry, current/voltage sensing, and pack-level safety thresholds.
Robotic-Arm Startup & Position-Recovery Firmware
Startup sequencing, motor-driver initialization, and EEPROM-based position retention for robotic arms using CAN and RS485.
Engineering details
- State Machine Control: Designed startup state machine for 24 V SMPS sequencing, motor-driver initialization, onboard I/O control, and last motor turn count (LMTC) restoration.
- Position Retention: Implemented EEPROM-based LMTC retention for position recovery with single-turn absolute encoders over CAN and RS485 buses.
ROS 2 Control Drivers, MoveIt 2 & SocketCAN
Hardware interfaces for motor drivers, mobile robots, and robotic arms, with MoveIt 2 motion planning and a Linux SocketCAN USB-to-CAN interface.

- ROS2 Hardware Interfaces: Developed ROS2 Control interfaces for Twara motor drivers, AMR platforms, and robotic arms, integrated with MoveIt 2 for servoing and motion planning.
- SocketCAN Interface: Built a USB-to-CAN converter supporting SocketCAN on Linux for real-time robotic diagnostics and motor communication.
50 kW Type 3 DC Fast Charger Prototype
A funded charger prototype combining a Vienna rectifier, PSFB converter, gate-drive hardware, and STM32 SiC/IGBT control firmware.
Engineering details
- NIDHI PRAYAS Funded: Secured INR 700,000 through GoI NIDHI PRAYAS and INR 100,000 in prototype funding to design a 50 kW Type 3 DC fast charger.
- Power & Gate Drives: Integrated a Vienna rectifier front-end and PSFB DC-DC converter. Designed high-power PCBs, gate drivers, current sensing, and STM32 SiC/IGBT firmware.
